At PODS we don’t just take care of your moving storage needs. We also take some time to work with local charities and our latest contribution was to Walking with the Wounded’s Christmas campaign #WalkingHomeforChristmas where we donated a raffle prize of £150.00 Love to Shop Vouchers for their raffle.

Walking with the Wounded provides vital employment, mental health and care coordination support to ex-servicemen and women – and their families – who are most at risk.

Why is this Charity Important to us?

Cal the daughter of one the ladies in the PODS office (Helen), works in the admin department based in Manchester and she helped organise and coordinate the event along with the rest of the team from Walking with the Wounded. This is a great charity and they are doing a fantastic job with this years fundraising so far. Every penny raised will directly support Walking With The Wounded’s employment, mental health and care coordination programs for ‘at risk’ ex military to help them back into society and lead independent lives.

The majority of veterans transition without an issue but for a minority the path is difficult. Christmas is great if you have a home, a family, a job, the ability to buy presents and the head-space to cope with family demands, gatherings and fireworks; it’s tough if you don’t. It’s so important to try and help those less fortunate than ourselves, especially at Christmas time when it can be even harder.

The Manchester fundraising team are already in the top 20 fundraisers across the country so they are dong a fabulous job raising money for this great charity. We were only too happy to make a small donation in order to help them out.
